There is very little danger of falling in the water. The Learn To Row boats are very stable and are not susceptible to capsize. When rowing in smaller boats the chance of tipping can increase; however, coaches make sure the rowers have the skills to progress to smaller boats. If proper technique and procedures are followed the likelihood of this occurring is low. In the unlikely event that this does happen, we have safety boats out on the water for each session, and life jackets can be taken in the rowing shells. As well, after watching the Row Canada Aviron safety video, rowers know the proper procedures and techniques to deal with tipping.
